How We Make Help Happen: Our Impact on Disease Fighting Efforts

Our initiatives focus on providing essential health services, preventive care, and health education. With our global network and our local community focus, RCFBGC has made strides in health accessibility. Our programs have benefited countless individuals, providing essential resources to those who need them most.

RCFBGC makes amazing things happen, like:

  • Public Health Education & Awareness
    • Diskarte Kontra Dengue: Dengue Awareness Campaign

On November 7-8, 2023, RCFBGC partnered with JJC Pasig to launch “Diskarte Kontra Dengue,” a dengue awareness campaign across elementary schools in Pateros. This collaborative effort involved multiple Rotary clubs from the Philippines, Taiwan, and South Korea, alongside local health authorities and the BSHS Red Cross Youth Council. The initiative aimed to educate students about dengue prevention, demonstrating our commitment to public health and community welfare.

    • EdukAIDS: An AIDS Education Project

“EdukAIDS,” an AIDS education project organized by RCFBGC and its Rotaract counterpart, took place on November 29, 2014, at Tuktukan Barangay Hall in Taguig City. This initiative brought together Rotaracts, Interacts, RCC members, and community guests to share vital information about HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment. By fostering open dialogue and providing accurate information, EdukAIDS contributed to breaking down stigmas and raising awareness about this important health issue in the local community.

  • Healthcare Access & Infrastructure
    • Medical Mission in Partnership with ALMES Alumni

On April 29, 2023, RCFBGC, in partnership with the Ananias Laico Memorial Elementary School (ALMES) alumni in Magdalena, Laguna, held a transformative medical mission. The event focused on promoting oral health, eye care, and overall well-being. Highlights included an oral health session by PP Dra. Ann Gutierrez, a body posture and health talk by Nurse Sarah Parilla, and an eye check-up program organized in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Pila West. Generous contributions from sponsors like DDC Land, Placer8, and Prife IteraCare, along with active support from Rotarians, ensured the success of the mission, making a lasting impact on the community’s health and wellness.

    • Donation to the Philippine General Hospital

In a powerful display of collaborative philanthropy, RCFBGC joined forces with the Rotary Clubs of Makati Century City and Makati Premier District to secure a global grant from The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International. This initiative, featured in Johnny Litton’s column in The Philippine Star, resulted in the donation of 13 vital bedside monitors, valued at ₱2,745,600, to the Philippine General Hospital’s Department of Neurosciences Ward 5. The project, supported by international partners including the Rotary Club of Cheonan Chungnam and District 3620 South Korea, exemplifies Rotary’s commitment to global health improvement and its ability to unite diverse stakeholders in creating lasting change for critical healthcare needs.

    • Gandang Ngipin Gandang Ngiti Caravan: Oral Health Care Project

The “Gandang Ngipin Gandang Ngiti Caravan,” an oral health care project initiated by RCFBGC, made its debut in July 2015 at the Integrated School of Sta. Ana in Taguig City. This collaborative effort brought together Rotary members, school officials, dental professionals, and community volunteers to provide fluoride application services to 67 school and preschool children. The project showcased the power of community partnerships, with donations of oral hygiene supplies and refreshments from various supporters, including local businesses.

  • Support for Disease Eradication Efforts
    • 3K RUN: End Polio Now

The club demonstrated its commitment to global health initiatives through the “End Polio Now” 3K Run held on October 26, 2014. This event not only promoted physical fitness among participants but also raised awareness and support for Rotary International’s ongoing efforts to eradicate polio worldwide. By combining community engagement with a vital cause, RCFBGC showcased how local actions can contribute to global health improvements, embodying Rotary’s mission of service above self.
